INTRODUCING THE COMPANY
Rubber Industries Engineering and Research Company (RIERCO) was established in 1988 with the aim of attaining rubber production spare parts in the country, in order to discourage foreign imports, and encourage domestic industrial investments, by exploitation of potentialities contributed by specialized engineers and researchers, for the purpose of developing a strong linkage between university and related industries. It started its cohesive activities within subdivision structures, such as Inspections, Engineering, Researches, Education, Publications, Library, and Information Services.
Since 1988, the design, research, monitoring, and joint programs, over production of rubber spare parts in one hand, and dissemination of news on science, technology, training manpower, and collecting documents on the other hand, were the main goals and objectives of most qualified staff of this company.
Obtaining engineering service permit, and license for research on rubber production from Ministry of Industries and Mines; getting a permit for establishing University of Applied Science and Technology at Associate and Bachelors degree levels, majoring in Rubber Engineering; opening a tire testing service center with collaboration of Rubber Industries; and setting up certified laboratories to meet the needs of related industries, have all strengthened the reliability of this company.
Close collaboration of Rubber Industries Engineering Research Company with Iranian Tire Industry Association has been an important factor to expertise coordination with tire producers.
Being a member of International Societies such as: Rubber and Plastics Research Association (RAPRA), International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), International Rubber Conference (IRCO); having relations with selected authentic domestic and foreign companies (i.e. Tire Research Institute, Rubber Institute); holding memberships of Iranian Industrial Development and Improvement Society, Iranian Industrial and Scientific Research Centers Society, and Society of Development and Research; have all contributed to an easy access to the latest Science and Innovations.
Holding annual national rubber seminar is another activity honoring the golden history of the company, during which the encountered problems and deficiencies are discussed in details and the extension of knowledge and ability of industry's experts and researchers are deeply challenged and examined.
In continuation of implementing development projects in rubber industries, after securing financial sources and granting required permits, construction of the biggest research center in Iran has started. With cooperation of Ministry of Industries and related authorities, this project is due to be completed in the near future, offering the most advanced tools and laboratory equipment, and teaching and welfare facilities.
Proper use of facilities in this research center could remove the problems on the way towards advancement and expansion of the industry, and could straighten avenues to access to the newest science and technology accomplishments within the strategic industry.
The Rubber Industries Engineering and Research Company is on the way to its projected goals by appointing advanced management systems such as ISO 9001-2000 quality management.
